In 2015, I collaborated with a humanitarian NGO on a field documentary project in remote highlands of China, recording communities affected by Kashin-Beck disease.

I brought fresh apples and balloons to mountain villages — many children saw both for the first time. The series captures unguarded emotions, fragile innocence, and quiet resilience.

Archived in three chapters — Children Portraits, People Portraits, and Highland Life— the work documents individual humanity, communal existence, and the atmosphere of the plateau. It forms a truthful visual record of overlooked rural life.
